  1. Open the Google Doc blog link side by side with the Basecamp brief.
  2. Read blog once for readability and spelling/grammar. Make adjustments if there is funky verbiage, if sentences don’t sound quite right, or if the content doesn’t align with what the client offers/what is expected from the content brief.
    1. Avoid using absolute terms, especially when talking about the performance characteristics of a product or service.
    2. Ensures” could be interpreted as a warranty and both “seamless” and “secure” set a very high standard that will be difficult to uphold if warranted.
    3. Say instead “can help” “promotes” rather than “ensures” –  no guarantees
  3. Review for SEO!
    1. Top Priorities
      1. Does it use keywords
      2. Command-F search for keywords
      3. Exact match not needed – Google will understand for the most part
      4. If needed, alter text so keywords work/fit, or add more keywords if they are missing.
    2. Check Links to see if they are relevant/timely
      1. No links older than 5 years
      2. If links are old, rewrite paragraph with new link
      3. 2 external links
      4. 2 internal links
  4. Final Step (once clean)
    1. Source 3 images relevant to the blog topic (AdobeStock for BPRF/HN)
    2. Add the images to the blog
    3. One should be a hero image, the other two should be spaced out within the content of the blog (typically above an H2)
    4. Create a comment and note the alt text for each image—alt text should be the same as the header text plugged with more keywords.
  5. Share with Chris for review
