1. Optimize infographic JPEG and PDF

Before uploading to the media library, we need to make sure we have an optimized version of the infographic in both JPEG and PDF forms. Optimizing the JPEG is as simple as optimizing the image title (like with any image upload). To optimize the PDF, follow this guide (written by some guy we may or may not know).

2. Upload both versions of the infographic to the media library

This step is simple. Upload both optimized versions (JPEG & PDF) to the media library! While there, make sure to copy the File URL for the PDF version of the file (more on that later)

3. Insert JPEG into the bottom of the blog

For HN & BPRF, infographics typically go into existing blogs. Go to the corresponding blog, click edit, and insert the infographic at the bottom of the blog with a signifying H2 (i.e. Gen Z Travel Trends Infographic (Free Download)).

For more information on uploading images into a HN blog, see the Blog Upload Process Doc.

4. Change JPEG size and link to the PDF

Once uploaded, edit the image by pressing the pencil icon. Once there, change the image width to 850. Then, under the “Link To” tab, select “Custom URL.”

Paste the URL from the PDF into the URL section.

5. Test, and let it fly

Update/Publish/Preview, click “View Page” to view the front end of things.

Click on the JPG of the infographic — if you’ve linked it correctly, the PDF will open in a new tab.

Make sure everything is working as planned, and that baby is good to go!
